CGIC CPD Webinar: Managing Difficult Organizational Change
July 16, 2025
As organizations face mounting pressure to adapt to global, political and economic changes, the topic of managing organizational change becomes increasingly crucial. Technological advancements, market shifts and regulatory changes often necessitate decisions that, while beneficial for long-term organizational sustainability, can negatively impact employees and their perception of the organization.
Understanding the dynamic relationship between the employer and the employee during negatively perceived organizational change is critical. Creating a smooth transition through change for both the employee and the employer is particularly important when employees are required to work through the transition.
This session, which delves into the psychological implications of the employee/ employer relationship, is designed to equip CGIC members with the understanding and practical tools to manage unpopular organizational changes effectively.
This session will address the following:
- The impact of an employee's perception of the organization when facing an unwelcome organizational change.
- The risks and implications of employees working after experiencing an unpopular organizational change.
- Mitigation techniques to offset the employee's negative perception of the organization.
- Review a current study to demonstrate the impact of risk mitigation tools and methods.
- Participants will have a chance to discuss how they can adapt these findings to navigate their own organizational transitions.
